OPERATION BIKINI 1963
U.S. film. A teen "Beach Party" musical in a World War II submarine? Almost, but not quite. The U.S. Navy sends an underwater demolition team to the South Pacific Bikini Islands in hopes of destroying Japanese ships. When a radar submarine sinks, the Allies must destroy the sunken sub before the sophisticated equipment falls into enemy hands.

Very weird casting, but somehow it works. Frankie Avalon, Jody McCrea and Eva Six all from the soon-to-be famous "Beach Party" series of films. And, teenage heart throb Tab Hunter; son of Bing, Gary Crosby; Mr. Magoo, Jim Backus; and famous 1950s JD actor, Dick Bakalyan. Also, Aki Aleong who in 1958 co-wrote the nonsense doo-wop 45 "Shombalor" by Sheriff & the Ravels, and in 1963 put out an LP called, "Come Surf With Me" by Aki Aleong and the Nobles.

The film is in black & white but there are two color (more tinted than full color) sequences where Frankie Avalon sings, "Girl Back Home." Narrator: William Shatner. The film's credits are in full color with a very "Beach Party" look featuring bikini-clad girls frolicking on Malibu Beach. Tab Hunter, Frankie Avalon, Scott Brady, Jim Backus, Gary Crosby, Jody McCrea, Aki Aleong, Eva Six, Dick Bakalyan.

Plus this bonus selection...
