DR. YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING! 1967
U.S. Color film. A great '60s look and vibe! Sandra Dee looks marvelous; a real hip-looking, sexy chick! A pregnant Heather (Sandra Dee) is rushed to the hospital with four other people crammed into a VW Bug! As she is being taken to the delivery room three boys (Dwayne Hickman, Bill Bixby and Dick Kallman) all ask her to marry them! The film flashes back to explain how this happened! Heather's mother (Celeste Holm) pushed her daughter into a show business singing career. One scene has them all getting drunk, singing, and go-go dancing until they wreck the room!

In the meantime Heather works at an investment bank as a secretary for a stuffy, ego maniac boss (George Hamilton) who tries to discourage her from a singing career. However they secretly like each other. Nichelle Nichols (Ohura from Star Trek) plays Sandra Dee's colleague at the office. A few scenes take place in a cool beatnik coffee bar filled with artists, actors, poets and musicians. In one scene a folkie plays guitar and sings. Another scene features wild dancing to an upbeat jazz combo.

Sandra rehearses and puts together a rock-ish act (sort of like Ann-Margret) backed by the rock and roll group, The Wild Affair. Sandra Dee sings: "I Haven't Got Anything Better To Do," "Walk Tall," and "Talkin' Law." The Wild Affair performs a Beatlesque number called, "Little Girl" while the crowd dances their butts off and the camera swirls all around. Very '60s!

Comedian Mort Sahl is the discotheque owner who hires Sandra Dee to sing. Sandra Dee, George Hamilton, Celeste Holm, Bill Bixby, Dick Kallman, Dwayne Hickman, Mort Sahl, Allen Jenkins, Robert Gibbons, Charlotte Stewart, Rica Owen Moore. Dr. You've Got To Be Kidding!
