LIVE IT UP (a.k.a. SING AND SWING) 1963
U.K. film. Excellent quality. Widescreen format. This film has more musical performances than plot but it's an unique view into the U.K. music scene just before the Beatles completely changed everything. A struggling rock band led by David Hemmings tries to make it in the music business...within one month.

Teenage Steve Marriott is in the band well before the Small Faces made their mark. A pre-Deep Purple Ritchie Blackmore appears playing guitar for the Outlaws. The strange, legendary record producer Joe Meek is in charge of music production and Live It Up features his protégé Heinz Burt.

And of course there's Gene Vincent singing "Temptation Baby" (and sounding a bit like Wanda Jackson). Poor Gene, you can see how difficult it is for him to walk with his leg brace and the large block on the bottom of his shoe.

Live It Up features these songs: Gene Vincent: "Temptation Baby." The Outlaws: "Law and Order." Heinz Burt: "Live It Up" and "Don't You Understand?" Sounds Incorporated: "Keep Moving." Kim Roberts: "For Loving Me This Way." Jennifer Moss: "Please Let It Happen To Me." Trisha Noble: "Accidents Will Happen." Andy Cavell and The Saints: "Don't Take You From Me." Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen: "Rondo."

Steve Marriott, David Hemmings, John Pike, Joan Newell, Ed Devereaux, Veronica Hurst, Peter Noble, David Bauer, Anthony Ashdown. David Clark. Music direction by Joe Meek. Costumes by Mary Quant. Live It Up.

Plus this bonus selection...

JUKE BOX JURY 1960
U.K. TV show. Panel Jury includes David McCallum and Jill Ireland. The Jury listens to 45s and intellectualizes on their hit or miss potential. Very entertaining TV show.
