Using archival film footage and interviews, this documentary examines the history of the Twist dance craze and the overlooked role of blacks in producing American pop culture. Other dances are examined including the Swim, the Jerk, the Watusi, the Hully Gully, the Hucklebuck, the Fly, the Frug, the Milly, the Monkey and several others. Interviews include Hank Ballard, Joey Dee, Chubby Checker, Gary "U.S." Bonds, several Bandstand "regulars" and others.
