QUADROPHENIA - CAN YOU SEE THE REAL ME
U.K. documentary. The Who during the making of their 1973 double LP, Quadrophenia. Cool vintage footage includes "I Can't Explain" promo film. Also, footage from the infamous concert when Keith Moon passed out behind his drum kit and a kid from the audience played drums to finish the concert.

Very interesting look at the people who are adults now, but were kids at the time, who were featured in the photos that accompanied the double-LP, including mod girls and the Jimmy character. Interviews with band members, journalists, recording engineer, etc. They isolate audio tracks to focus on various song elements. Interesting and informative.

Plus this bonus selection...

A WHOLE SCENE GOING 1966
Jan-5-66. U.K. TV show. A panel discusses what you'll be doing in 1966. The Who perform several songs "live" and Pete Townsend waxes philosophically about smashing guitars, girls' fascination with their clothes and how the members of The Who don't really like each other. Cool trick-skateboard riding segment! Also, from Liverpool find out about future music trends from Ray McFall (Cavern Club owner), Allan Williams (Beatles first manager), and several others.
