Hard Rock: Loud, aggressive rock music featuring a heavily distorted guitar. Drums feature strong kick drum and backbeat on snare, using cymbals for emphasis. Bass guitar works in combination with drums, sometimes playing riffs, but generally providing a backing for guitars. Vocals are growling, raspy, or involve screaming or wailing, sometimes in a falsetto voice.

IRON BUTTERFLY 1971
Danish TV. Iron Butterfly plays a small club where the audience is seated at tables with drip candles. The group talks to the audience. Songs include: "Soldier In Our Town," "Stone Believer," "Easy Rider," "Butterfly Bleu."

DEEP PURPLE 1973
Long Island, NY. May-73. Color. This concert features the only known video recording of "Smoke on the Water", performed by the original Mark II lineup. Ritchie Blackmore (guitar), Roger Glover (bass), Ian Gillan (vocals), Ian Paice (drums) and Jon Lord (keyboards). Songs include: "Strange Kind of Woman," "Smoke on the Water," "Space Truckin'."

U.S. concert. Jun-1-74. Color. Live at the Los Angeles Forum. Very energized performances. Songs include: "Footstompin' Music," "Rock & Roll Soul," "Heartbreaker," "Shinin' On," "The Loco-Motion," "We're An American Band," "T.N.U.C. (Drum Solo), "Inside Looking Out."
