U.S. TV show. Host: Ellis Haizlip. "If You Don't Know Me By Now." Guests: Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes; singer Esther Marrow; and Ida Lewis editor/publisher of Encore magazine. Esther Marrow: "Mama," "Things Ain't Right," "Tradewinds," and "And When I Die." Ida Lewis is interviewed about the goals of Encore magazine and how it informs the black community. Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes: "If You Don't Know Me By Now," "Ebony Woman," "Be For Real," "Let Me Into Your World," and "I Miss You."

SOUL! - February 28, 1973
U.S. TV show. Hosts: Gerry Bledsoe and Ellis Haizlip. "The Master's Child." Billy Preston from his "Music Is My Life" period. Songs: "Make the Devil Mad," "The Bus Is Coming," "Amazing Grace," "Will It Go Round In Circles," "Outa Space," "That's The Way God Planned It," "My Sweet Lord," and "Higher." Features George and Louis Johnson on guitar and bass before they became The Brothers Johnson.

SOUL! - March 7, 1973 (The Final Episode)
U.S. TV show. "To The People, Thank You." Soul! staff: Ellis Haizlip, Alonzo Brown Jr., Anna Horsford, Sherri Santifer, Loretta Green and Leslie Demus read poetry and letters from viewers throughout the country—and share clips of Patti LaBelle and The Bluebelles (from the first episode of Soul! in 1968), and King Curtis (musical director of Soul!, who passed away during the show's run). Patti LaBelle and The Bluebelles: "Over the Rainbow." King Curtis and The Kingpins: "Hello Sunshine," and "Somebody's Watching You."

U.S. film Chicago's open-air Maxwell Street Market is captured in this musical "slice of life" film from noted photographer Mike Shea. Along with vendors and shoppers, you'll see street-corner evangelists, noted gospel and blues performers such as Robert Nighthawk, Jim Brewer and Blind Arvella Gray, and other Windy City originals. Fantastic black rhythm & blues.
