THE IN CROWD 1988
U.S. film. Excellent quality. 16:9 widescreen. A cool teenage nostalgia film set in Philadelphia, The In Crowd is a wonderful look at the world of 1960s teen dance TV shows! Perry Parker is a Philadelphia rock-n-roll TV dance show host who hopes to take the place of Dick Clark after he takes his show to Hollywood in 1965.

Del Green is a college-bound high school student who crashes the Dance Party and becomes a favorite of the teen audience. He becomes the dance partner of Vicky, the pretty blonde star dancer of the show. Del soon must decide whether or not to remain a local teenage fave or attend an Ivy League college, and he must also deal with the trial of peer pressure.

Some scenes filmed in Wildwood, New Jersey. Cool 60s fashions! Cameo appearances by real-life legendary disc jockeys Jocko Henderson and Hy Lit. 1960s Rock and Soul group, The Contours appear! Plenty of music from the mid 1960s is provided, including: "Sweet Soul Music," "Do You Love Me," "Anyone Who Had A Heart," "A Wonderful Dream," "When You're Young & In Love," "The In Crowd," "The Real Thing," "Mickey's Monkey," "Little Latin Lupe Lu," "I Do," "Mine Exclusively," "Land of A Thousand Dances," "Like A Rolling Stone."

Interesting note: There was a lawsuit involving this movie. The Perry Parker character was based on a Philadelphia disc jockey Jerry Blavat, who sued to keep the movie from being released. The producers of the movie settled with Blavat out of court. Donovan Leitch, Joe Pantoliano, Jennifer Runyon, Wendy Gazelle, Charlotte d'Amboise, Bruce Kirby, Freddie Ganno, Page Hannah, Richard Schave, Jocko Henderson, Hy Lit, The Contours, Peter Boyle, Ricki Lake. The In Crowd!
