UNSUNG MOTOWN - Volume 3

DAVID RUFFIN
David Ruffin provided the raspy and angst-ridden lead vocal on the hits "My Girl," "Ain’t Too Proud to Beg," and "I Know (I’m Losing You)," and was the center of the Temptations in their peak years. But his swelling ego forced his bandmates to cut ties with him in 1968.

Drug abuse took its toll in the '70s and '80s, costing Ruffin opportunities to reunite with friends and former bandmates. His family, friends and musical associates come together to help tell the life story of the legendary singer.

EDDIE KENDRICKS
Co-founder and lead singer of the Temptations. Eddie Kendricks' sweet falsetto helped define that legendary group's distinctive sound. His was the lead on such hits as "The Way You Do The Things You Do," "Get Ready," and "Just My Imagination." But despite the Temptations fabulous success, restlessness and resentment led to Kendricks' departure for a solo career.

As a solo artist he recorded the number one R&B hits "Keep On Truckin'" and "Boogie Down." But, while Eddie's easy-going personality made him a favorite with fans and fellow stars, behind the scenes he was often a loner, who rarely let friends and family members witness his personal struggles. Now, those closest to Eddie come together to tell the story of one of the greatest singers few really knew.

UNSUNG MOTOWN - Volume 4

BOBBY WOMACK
Bobby Womack grew up as the middle child among the talented vocal group, the Womack brothers, later re-named the Valentinos, where they forged success as a pop group under the tutelage of soul icon Sam Cooke. Bobby's career took a wild turn when, he married Sam's widow within months of his murder.

Bobby became a villain among former fans and was all but banned from the record industry. He emerged in the '70s and '80s penning soulful standards such as "If You Think You're Lonely Now." Then an astonishing string of tragedies sent his life and career into a tailspin.

BILLY PRESTON
Billy Preston was a musical prodigy. By age 9, he'd mastered the Hammond Organ. At 10, he performed with Nat King Cole and recorded with Mahalia Jackson. At 15, Little Richard took him on a European Tour. In the late '60s, Billy joined the Beatles on their "Let It Be" sessions and was the only artist ever to share a songwriting credit with them.

In the early '70s, he regularly toured with the Rolling Stones. And his greatest fame came on his own, with a slew of popular hits including "Nothin' From Nothin" and "Will It Go Round in Circles." But the joy Billy shared in his music was masking a deep sadness.
