MOTOR CITY FIVE - MC5 DOCUMENTARY
U.S. documentary. MC5: A True Testimonial. Excellent quality. The most complete look at the MC5, the bad-ass Detroit-based rock band of the 1960s and early 1970s. It's everything a rockumentary should be, but usually isn't.

Although the MC5 are considered influential today, they were relatively obscure during the 60s and 70s. This documentary is assembled using a variety of source materials including: rare photographs and film clips including U.S. government surveillance footage of the MC5's performance outside the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago. Silent film footage was matched with unreleased recordings. Interviews include: discussions with the band's surviving members and people closely associated to them.

MC5: A True Testimonial provides significant insight into the origins, career, and the influence of the MC5. Anyone interested in the connection of rock music to politics, or the evolution of punk rock, or a different perspective on the counter-culture movement of the late 1960s and early 1970s would enjoy this documentary. Rob Tyner, Wayne Kramer, Fred "Sonic" Smith, Michael Davis, and Dennis Thompson.
