THE LOLLIPOP COVER 1965
U.S. film. This rare, touching and allegorical movie is unexpectedly very good. Nick is a washed up boxer who's taken too many punches and decides it's time to quit the ring. He travels to see his sister who is holding six thousand dollars of his money.

He arrives at his sister's place only to discover that she recently committed suicide but before she died she gave the money to her former boyfriend who is a dope-addict junkie living in Venice Beach, California. Nick begins a hitchhiking journey to find the junkie and reclaim his money.

Along the way Nick meets Felicity, a little nine-year-old girl whose mother ran off with another man and her alcoholic father has abandoned her. She's living in a cave near the ocean. She takes Nick to see her living space and proudly points to her tattered Beatles poster attached to the cave wall.

Felicity's view of the world is the opposite of Nick's—she wants to believe in the goodness of people but when events prove too sad she holds a colored transparent lollipop cover up to her face to see the world in a new light. She asks Nick to look through the lollipop cover but it takes time before he can see the world as she does. Eventually Nick realizes that Felicity is the most important thing he has found on his journey to Los Angeles. Don Gordon, Carol Anne Seflinger, David White, Cliff Carnell, Carolyn Hughes, John Marley, Bek Nelson.
