U.S. film. Excellent qualty. 16:9 widescreen. Music by The Lovin' Spoonful. A groovy sixties "coming-of-age" film that could have only been made in the mid-60s! Cool nighttime footage of 42nd Street and Broadway smut shops and sidewalk scenes including Playland, Howard Johnsons, movie marquees, etc. Cool psychedelic Greenwich Village nightclub scene with go-go dancers, wild image projections on walls, and very loud rock & roll.

Bernard is a 19-year-old virgin who works at the New York Public Library. His father gives him two words of advice: "grow up!" To become more independent Bernard moves into a rooming house run by the eccentric "Miss Thing," but opportunity for sex is constrained by a woman-hating rooster who guards the premises and refuses to allow any girls to enter.

One night Bernard goes to a discotheque with two library employees: Raef, who has had considerable experience with sex and drugs, and pretty Amy, who develops a crush on him. However, Bernard is more awestruck by Barbara Darling, an actress who works as the nightclub's go-go dancer.

Barbara is a confirmed man-hater who spends her time in her eccentrically decked out apartment dictating her memoirs to a dwarf called, Richard Mudd. After sending Barbara a love letter, Bernard spends a disastrous night with her.
