TOMMY THE TOREADOR 1960
U.K. film. "Tommy The Toreador" feels like an Elvis movie—only with bad teeth! British rock and roll singer Tommy Steele plays Tommy Tomkins, a British sailor traveling the world and singing his favorite songs. Tomkins and his girlfriend Amanda (Janet Munro) find themselves in Spain. There, they meet up with a famous bullfighter. When the bullfighter is framed by a gang of smugglers to take the rap for their crimes, Tomkins must step in and replace the bullfighter for one long and perilous day. He hopes to win his fortune as the stand-in matador and free the real bullfighter. Tommy finishes up in the bull ring facing a very angry bull and is cheered on by the crowd.
Songs include: "Tommy The Toreador," "Take A Ride," "Where's The Birdie," "Little White Bull," "Singing Time" and "Amanda." Tommy Steele, Janet Munro, Sid James, Bernard Cribbins, Noel Purcell, Virgilio Teixeira, José Nieto, Ferdy Mayne, Harold Kasket, Kenneth Williams, Eric Sykes. Tommy The Toreador!
