THE ROAD TO BALI 1968
JPN. GS film. 1960s Japanese Group Sounds band, the Spiders star in this rare Monkees and Beatles inspired secret agent movie. Here's a sample of what's going on: Secret agent hit-men review photos of their next covert mission which include plutonium, atom bomb explosions and the Spiders! Particularly, photos of their guitar amps!

It seems the Spiders are unknowingly transporting plutonium! Very cool scene with the Spiders HQ room covered floor to ceiling with art that looks like Peter Max and Andy Warhol.

One of the Spiders trips, falls, and his face lands (and stays!) in the breasts of a bikini clad mod girl! Exotic topless native women! This film has an exotic story line with travel to Hong Kong, Djakarta, Sydney and Thailand.

The music is also the most raucous, garage rockin' of any Spiders film! The tunes are straight-ahead garage beat and melodic 60s rock. Very British Invasion inspired. Tons of songs including "Akai Dress No Onna No Ko," "Hey Boy" and "Summer Girl." [In Japanese. No Subtitles.]
