AND THE BEAT GOES ON 1999
U.S. film. Excellent quality. The Sonny and Cher Story is a fun and entertaining window into the mod, pop and rock 'n' roll world of the 1960s.

The film begins with Sonny trying to find his way into the Los Angeles rock 'n' roll scene of the late 1950s early 1960s. He gets a job at Specialty Records, and then works for Phil Spector at Gold Star studios and in the process invents "Sonny and Cher."

Look for: The chaotic, hit-making studio atmosphere of Gold Star Studios. The 1963-64 "Caesar & Cleo" era featuring small club performances. Signature mod & folk-rock fashions that lean heavily into 1965-era pop styling, explicitly bold bell-bottoms, brightly striped trousers, and those infamous shaggy faux-fur vests. Also cool 60s furnishings, Mustangs, and 60s era Los Angeles.

All the duos hits are heard including "And The Beat Goes On," "I Got You Babe" and "Baby Don't Go."
