We're not in Philadelphia anymore! The vibe on American Bandstand is distinctly 1966, Los Angeles, where there's a bit of a mod scene going on.

BANDSTAND 1966
U.S. TV show. Jun-18-66. Excellent quality. 4:3 aspect ratio. Steve Alaimo appears in-person and sings "So Much Love" and "May We." Steve is interviewed. The group Love appears in-person and performs "A Message To Pretty" and "Little Red Book." The group is interviewed and talks about their Hollywood castle.

Telephone Hotline features Captain Beefheart speaking to a teenager in the studio audience about the reason for his group's (the Magic Band) recent popularity. A Bathing Beauty picture contest is announced.

The Top-Ten is loaded with '60s goodness! Number one song this week is, Simon and Garfunkel: "I Am A Rock." The Rate-a-Record segment features, Dick Michaels: "Goodbye To Yesterday" and The Robbs: "Race With The Wind." The Spotlight Dance features the Ides Of March: "You Wouldn't Listen."

The kids in the studio dance to, Paul Revere and the Raiders: "Hungry." Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band: "Diddy Wah Diddy." The Tijuana Brass: "What Now My Love." Includes original commercials.

U.S. TV show. Dec-18-65. April Stevens & Nino Tempo appear in-person and sing, "Begin the Beguine" and "Hey Baby." Murray the "K" appears in-person and talks about how he got his start in the music business and his groovy new nightclub in New York.

Josephine Sunday appears in-person and sings "You Won't Know Even Her Name." She's interviewed and talks about making her own clothes. It's announced that former Beatle Pete Best will appear on an upcoming show.

The Top-Ten is loaded with '60s goodness! Number one song this week; The McCoys: "Fever." The Rate-a-Record segment features, John Winfield Jr.: "She Passes This Way" and Peter Ford: "Don't Keep It To Yourself." The Spotlight Dance features the Lovin' Spoonful:" You Didn't Have To Be So Nice."
