THE HORROR OF IT ALL 1964
U.K. film. Pat Boone traded his letterman sweater for cobwebs and creepy corridors in
The Horror of It All. Pat plays Jack Robinson, a sharp-dressed Yankee who jets across the pond to pop the question to his British dream girl only to find her family is exceptionally eccentric and surprisingly sinister, a real bunch of kooky spooks!
With thunder cracking, shadows creeping, and relatives dropping like flies, Jack's in a race to solve a mystery before his number is up! Tonally, the film mixes camp and suspense and it plays like and extended Addams Family episode. Amid the mayhem Pat sings his new song, "Play It Simple."
Overall,
The Horror of It All is an entertaining relic for fans of offbeat cinematic curiosities. Pat Boone, Dennis Price, Andree Melly (fantastically creepy!), Valentine Dyall, Archie Duncan, Jack Bligh.
