CHAMBER OF HORRORS 1966
U.S. film. Nutcase Jason Cravette (Patrick O'Neal) murders a woman and then persuades a priest into marrying him to his dead bride. He's quickly caught by the police and sentenced to death. Fascinated by the ghastly story, Anthony Draco (Cesare Danova) and Harold Blount (Wilfrid Hyde-White) install a diorama in their wax museum illustrating the frightening story. But when Cravette escapes, pledging death to all those he feels have wronged him, Draco and Blount need to think quickly to escape his revenge.

Produced as a TV series pilot called House of Wax, this film was determined to be too violent for the small screen and given theatrical distribution instead. An exploitation device was added called the "Fear Flasher/Horror Horn" to warn the audience of the "Four Supreme Fright Points" of the film. (Although it was not applied to the film's most explicitly violent moment, the climactic fate of the villain). This device was explained in an introductory sequence narrated by William Conrad.

In addition to the Fear Flasher a few star cameos like Tony Curtis, Suzy Parker, and Marie Windsor were added to increase the film's running time. Patrick O'Neal, Cesare Danova, Wilfrid Hyde-White, Laura Devon, Patrice Wymore, Wayne Rogers, William Conrad.
