THE WINNER (a.k.a. PIT STOP) 1967
U.S. film. Lots of real racing action. This film is done in pure late 50s black & white style. Great rockin' soundtrack from "The Daily Flash" and "John Fridge." Starts with hot rods racing down L.A. streets and progresses to spectacular stock car crashes in "figure 8" style racing. Sore loser destroys winner's car with an axe while his ex-girlfriend is inside.

Look for George Barris' "Kustom" car creations. Wild nightclub dance scenes with mod and hippie chicks. Cool desert party with dune buggies, dancing, and guitar playing by the campfire. Stars Brian Donlevy, Dick Davalos (James Dean's brother in East of Eden), Ellen (Burstyn) McRae, Sid Haig (Daddy from "It's A Bikini World"), Beverly Washburn. Harry Schooler, George Barris, Sandy Reed, Ed Hand, Hal Lane, and Dr. Edwin Kissel play themselves. Pit Stop.

Plus this bonus selection...

Feb-28-66. U.S. TV show. From San Francisco. The Everly Brothers: "Cathy's Clown" and "Lonely Avenue." Joe Tex: "A Sweet Woman Like You." Paul Revere & the Raiders: "Uptight (Everything's Alright)." Keith Allison: "Mr. Tambourine Man." Steve Alaimo: "Crying."
