RUN, ANGEL, RUN! 1969
U.S. film. Raw and Violent! Theme song sung by Tammy Wynette. The story follows Angel, a member of the outlaw motorcycle gang the "Devil's Advocates," who decides to leave the violent biker lifestyle after he falls for Laurie, a straight-laced woman outside the biker world. Angel imagines a quieter, conventional life away from the gang's chaos.

After Angel's departure he writes a story exposing the inner workings of the gang and sells it to a news magazine for $10,000 which his former biker brothers naturally view as a betrayal. The gang begins a pursuit of Angel across rural America to "waste him!" Much of the film unfolds as a tense chase, contrasting Angel's attempt at redemption with the gang's code of loyalty and retaliation.

Look for great late 1960s scenes of drunken bikers and go-go dancers flailing their bodies to psychedelic hard rock by the Windows and the Peanut Butter Conspiracy. Songs include: "True Believers," "Love and Admiration of the Brotherhood Society of South Napa County," "You're Gonna Get a Piece of My Mind," "Jump," "Oversexed," and "Get It On." William Smith, Valerie Starrett, Dan Kemp, Gene Otis Shane, Brian Rapp.

HELL'S ANGEL VS HUNTER S. THOMPSON 1967
From Canadian TV. Hunter S. Thompson comes face to face with a member of the Hell's Angels. Thompson became known internationally for his book "Hell's Angels: The Strange and Terrible Saga of the Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs." He spent a year living and riding with the Angels, experiencing their lives and hearing their stories firsthand. The biker complains that 60% of the book is "cheap trash." The audience, which includes Joan Baez, cheers the biker.
