GOOD TIME GIRL 1948
U.K. film. Excellent quality. Gwen is a pretty young girl from the wrong side of the tracks who works at a pawnshop where she steals jewelry. When her boss finds out, he fires her. When her father finds out, he beats her. Gwen runs away from home and moves into a boarding house where she meets a sharply dressed man named, Jimmy.

Jimmy helps Gwen score a job as a hatcheck girl at the Blue Angel nightclub. At the club Gwen falls for a musician. When jealous Jimmy finds out, he beats her, gives her a black eye and plots to ruin her life.

Through twists and turns of events (including more beatings and a razor slash), Gwen winds up in a teenage reformatory where she befriends Roberta, the school's most notorious hoodlum, who teaches her how to play the system. Gwen breaks out of reform school and returns to nightclub life where she meets Danny. They get drunk, go for a drive and run over and kill a policeman.

When the cops start to close in Gwen flees (but first she gets another beating). She meets two AWOL American solders and the three of them pursue a life of crime mugging people in London. When things get too hot in London they decide to lamb it in Manchester. They flag down a car with the intention of stealing it—one thing leads to another and next thing you know someone is shot dead.

This movie has so many twists, turns and developments it's hard to remember everything by the time you get to the sensational and terrible ending! Jean Kent, Dennis Price, Diana Dors, Herbert Lom, Bonar Colleano, Peter Glenville, Flora Robson, George Carney, Beatrice Varley, Griffith Jones, Amy Veness.

THIS CHARMING COUPLE 1950
U.S. short film. Marriage is not for everybody. This educational film tries to warn the viewer to pay attention to the little things about people you fall in love with. Little things can become big things that destroy a marriage. In this instance a man's hobby is recording rural folks singers in their natural environment. Cool. But the woman hates it. There is no happily-ever-after.
