Double Feature!
PURPLE HAZE 1982
U.S. film. Caution: this film may give you a contact high! Tons of pot smoking and a wall-to-wall 60's music soundtrack; more than 20 songs. Set in 1968 during the hippie-counter-culture, war protest revolution. Filmed primarily in Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Matt, a hippie college student, gets expelled from Princeton University for smoking pot. He hitchhikes back home to Minnesota—and disapproving parents. His father hates his damn long hair. Now Matt is waiting, along with his friends, to be drafted. They live their lives against the political backdrop of student protests around the world, the Vietnam War and the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy.
Lots of drug taking, hanging out, going to hippie parties, all accompanied by a classic 60s rock music soundtrack. Just some of the artists heard include: The Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Animals, The Buffalo Springfield, The Byrds, The Jefferson Airplane, Procol Harum, The Youngbloods, and many others. Peter Nelson, Chuck McQuary, Bernard Baldan, Susanna Lack, Bob Breuler, Joanne Bauman, Heidi Helmer, James Craven, Peter Thoemke, Jane A. Rogers.

HIPPIE NEWS FOOTAGE 1967
San Francisco Bay Area News shorts include a special hippie European cruise with on board rock bands. It's gonna be a party man! Also, a Jewish Rabbi has a very sensible assessment of the hippie movement.
