U.K. film. David Essex plays singer Jim Maclaine, whose sudden rise to fame as a 60s beatlesque pop star has enriched him beyond his wildest dreams. His perspective and sense of values skewered by sex, drugs and booze, Maclaine is outwardly successful but hollow inside.
