MOST DANGEROUS MAN ALIVE 1961
U.S. film. A gangster science-fiction movie filmed in Mexico in '58 but not released until '61. Eddie Candell is a rich big shot, mobster vending machine king. He likes fast women, cars, yachts and the attention of national magazines. His gangster associates don't like all the attention and vote Eddie out – but Eddie shoots first and kills. The others knock him out and turn him over to the law.

On his way to prison and the electric chair, there is a road accident and Eddie escapes and runs into the desert. Cue the stock footage of an atomic bomb test and BOOM! But wait, somehow Eddie survives the mushroom cloud and wanders the desert until he collapses in a cave.

Next we're in a scientific laboratory examining the effects of radiation on living things. We learn that Eddie is the first man on Earth ever exposed to Cobalt Element X, which means he is now part man and part steel – yes, he's a man of steel. Eddie Candell is the most dangerous man alive!

His body can absorb metal on contact, including all the bullets his former mobster pals fire at him. The mutation also gives Eddie the strength of ten men, however his psyche has been affected and he slowly loses any ability to perceive pleasure or compassion. Meanwhile the body count around him rises. How will it end for Eddie?

Back in 1956 and hot off her role in Cecil B. DeMille's "The Ten Commandments," Debra Paget starred with Elvis in "Love Me Tender." If Debra and the cast snickered behind Elvis's back about his "movie career," then Elvis was certainly having the last laugh in 1961 as Debra was now playing a drunk in an odd (but interesting) science–fiction flick while Elvis was filming the most successful film of his career, "Blue Hawaii."

Ron Randell, Debra Paget, Elaine Stewart, Anthony Caruso, Gregg Palmer, Morris Ankrum, Tudor Owen, Steve Mitchell, Joel Donte. Most Dangerous Man Alive!
