ONCE UPON A COFFEE HOUSE 1964
U.S. film. Over a dozen songs! It's a 1960's folk music, beatnik film featuring hipsters, bongos, goatees, beat lingo, black turtlenecks, and dark sunglasses! Once Upon a Coffee House centers on a rich nerdy playboy from New York who buys a Miami coffee house because he has a crush on a folk-singing doll face who performs there. But because he's such a square, the former owner tries to teach him how to become a beatnik by wearing tight pants, growing a goatee, talking hip lingo and playing the guitar. Like, swingin' man.

Look for a rockin' beach party twist scene featuring a hepcat named, "Pepé," (a Desi Arnaz/Elvis wannabe) who wails a rockin' tune while all the kids twist their butts off. Also, comedian Joan Rivers appears in the folk group, Jim, Jake and Joan—they do some pretty good musical/comedy routines. Definitely a period piece and a nostalgic look back at a brief time in American music and culture.

Musical artists include: The Goldebriars, The Free Wheelers, Oscar Brand, The New Coachmen, and Jim, Jake and Joan. Curt Boettcher of the Goldebriars went on to produce "Along Comes Mary," a smash hit for The Association. Curtis Taylor, Karen Thorsell, Jerry Newby, Pedro Román, Vince Martin, Barbara Cole, Deanna Lund, Peg Rayborn, Gloria Loring. Once Upon a Coffee House.

Plus this bonus selection...

SIMON AND GARFUNKEL: LIVE IN HOLLAND 1966
