JAMES BROWN ON MIDDAY 1986
Jan-24-86. U.S. TV show. James brown was the special guest on the NYC-based TV program "Midday" immediately after his inauguration into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. James candidly discusses his influences, who's been influenced by him, and answers unrehearsed questions from the studio audience! Very good. Note: At this time "Living in America," the theme song from Rocky IV, reached #4 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, becoming James Brown's biggest pop hit since "I Got You (I Feel Good)" went to #3 in 1965.

Plus this bonus selection...

JAMES BROWN DOCUMENTARY 1996
U.S. documentary. An in-depth look at one of the most popular and influential singers in musical history. James Brown was born into poverty in Barnwell, South Carolina in 1933. His life story documents struggle after struggle. "The Godfather of Soul" provides interesting insight into the development of James Brown's music thanks in part to comments from Stevie Wonder, B.B. King, Jesse Jackson, Danny Ray (James' longtime stage announcer), Bootsy Collins, Dan Ackroyd, and biographer Bruce Tucker.

For the already initiated, the very rare stills which permeate the production, plus the c. 1969 live clips of "Please, Please, Please" and "Say It Loud, I'm Black and I'm Proud" should make it worthwhile. You'll also see James perform his signature hits, including "Papa's Got A Brand New Bag" and "I Got You (I Feel Good)." Includes performance footage, rare photos and interviews.
