SWEETWATER: A TRUE ROCK STORY 1999
U.S. film. Based on the true story of Sweetwater, the band that was supposed to open Woodstock '69. Shortly after Woodstock, Sweetwater seemed poised for stardom. Sadly, lead singer Nancy Nevins was in a very bad auto accident that caused her to fade from the spotlight and spiral into drug and alcohol addiction.

Thirty years later, a television reporter sets out discover what happened to Sweetwater. This film does a good job of recreating the look, feel, sounds and vibe of the 60s and early 70s. Amy Jo Johnson, Kelli Williams, Kurt Max Runte, Robert Moloney, Nancy Moonves, Michael Rawlins, Adam Ant, Michelle Phillips, Frederic Forrest, Trevor Roberts, Peter Williams, John Burgess-Murray.

Plus this bonus selection...

I bought this movie because I'm a huge Amy Jo Johnson fan and collect all of her work. It was very good, educational and entertaining. I really enjoyed Amy Jo's singing, her ability to change her voice to sound like Nancy's was outstanding. I recommend this one if you love her, Sweetwater, 70s music and culture, or Woodstock history. Peace out, man. I am disappointed that it did not come with the original artwork. (Posted on 5/13/14)
