ELVIS MEETS NIXON 1997
U.S. film. This might be the best Elvis movie ever made! It's the true story of December 19, 1970 when Elvis left Graceland, on his own, boarded a commercial airline, and traveled to Washington D.C. then to LA, then back to D.C. to ask then President Richard Nixon for a Special Agent at Large DEA badge. Watching the film you'd love to believe it all happened exactly as depicted (most of it DID!), but even if it didn't, it's an incredibly fun ride with the King! "Muh boy, muh boy!"

See Elvis: Shoot the TV set as Robert Goulet sings, eat candy and cakes from his secret stash, try to buy an airline ticket with no money, buy donuts in a very dangerous neighborhood, visit a hippie record store to look for his own records in the bin, meet with an anti-war revolutionary who tries to get him to join the movement – and many more outrageous situations!

Of course, the most outrageous of all is that Nixon, in trying to improve his image with the kids, decides to meet with Elvis and actually gives him a Federal Agent badge. Denny Doherty of the Mamas & the Papas plays Elvis's father, Vernon Presley. Cameo appearances by Dick Cavett, Wayne Newton, Tony Curtis, Graham Nash, Edwin Newman. Go Elvis! Rick Peters, Bob Gunton, Alyson Court, Denny Doherty, Jackie Burroughs, Curtis Armstrong, Gabriel Hogan, Robbi Jay Thuet.
