HOUND DOG MAN 1959
U.S. film. Fabian's 1st film. Fabian as "Clint" is constantly in the doghouse for disobeying his mother. Much to his family's chagrin, he hangs out with a reckless character who takes him hunting in hillbilly country. He falls in love with a beautiful mountain girl, then gets mixed up with an older married woman. Holy jeez, Fabian's got one hellava bossa nova haircut! Fabian, sings several songs (some written by teen idol competitor, Frankie Avalon.) Carol Lynley, Stuart Whitman, Arthur O'Connell, Dodie Stevens, Betty Field. Hound Dog Man!

Plus this bonus selection...

FABIAN: HOLLYWOOD AND THE STARS 1963
U.S. TV show. Fabian's life is examined in this dynamite 1960s TV show documentary. Very good. Narrated by Fabian himself. Great scenes with teenage girls mauling Fabian—actually ripping his clothes and making him bleed! He realizes he's being sold as a teen idol and resists. He makes a successful move to Hollywood.

I couldn't find this movie anywhere, until I found Video Beat. Fabian's first movie was in response to Elvis' Love Me Tender. Great movie! (Posted on 12/19/12)
