THE HITCHHIKERS 1972
U.S. film. A big plus for this film is that is has no redeeming social value. But, it does have sexy teenage girls in skimpy clothes, skinny-dipping, a rowdy pot party, a folk-country soundtrack, 70s hippie talk (far out, man!), some good catfights and not a bra in sight—so it's not a completely pointless film.

A commune of dirty hippies and their leader "Benson" (no doubt inspired by "Manson") take drugs and do very bad things. The opening credits list, "The Victims" when showing the actor's names who played the motorists that were unfortunate enough to pick up Benson's teenage hitchhikers.

Maggie, a hot blonde, discovers she's pregnant but her boyfriend tells her to take a hike. She's afraid to tell her uptight parents, so she sticks out her thumb, hits the road and catches a ride with a guy who buys her dinner, rapes her and ditches her at a truck stop. Bad day! Maybe the next person who gives her a lift will be nicer?

Enter Benson, a hippie with a magnetic personality, who takes Maggie to a desert commune where he lives with four pretty teenage girls, Diane, Karen, Jinx and Brook. In no time, Diane attacks Maggie and causes her to miscarriage. Benson to the rescue—he arranges an illegal abortion by blackmailing a crooked doctor. Gee, we even get to see the abortion.

So how does this commune support themselves? The girls hitchhike and "flash" motorists with nudity, then rob the geezers who stop to give them a lift. Like the movie poster says, "Underage Runaways—The Kids Who Put the "Gyp" in Gypsy."

Maggie is played by the lovely, busty, lusty blonde, Misty Rowe, who was a regular on "Hee Haw" and played Marilyn Monroe in the tawdry biopic "Goodbye Norma Jean." Misty Rowe, Nick Klar, Linda Avery, Tammy Gibbs, Kathy Stutsman, Mary Thatcher, Denny Nichols, Ted Zeigler, Efrem Dockter, Prince Johnny Reb.

WHATEVER HAPPENED TO MARY JANE? 1975
Sipped and smoked—this TV news program shows the effects of alcohol and marijuana use by putting young people in a room and filming them get drunk and stoned. The announcer then discusses the mental, physical and societal aspects. Listen for sitar music! One kid got so drunk he had to stay in the studio overnight because he was too messed up to go home.
