LET IT BE 1970
U.K. film. Excellent quality. 16:9 widescreen. Stereo soundtrack. The Beatles: John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, plus George Martin, Yoko Ono, Billy Preston, Mal Evans.

For years speculative stories have circulated about Let It Be. Some said it was shot on 16mm film and was made for television and therefore has a 4:3 aspect ratio to fit a TV screen, etc. Various releases have claimed "widescreen" when in fact they were simply a 4:3 version that was zoomed in and cropped to appear widescreen but because of the zoom the image was grainy and the edges of the screen images were chopped off.

This version was compared against several others and it appears to have been shot on 35mm film, in stereo, and is real 16:9 widescreen. It is simply the best version we have seen which is why we've listed it in our catalog.

In some ways the film is kind of a bummer--seeing the Beatles bored, disinterested and arguing is not how we like to think of the Fab Four, but it is honest. And wonderful moments do shine through.

Songs include: Don't Let Me Down, Maxwell's Silver Hammer, Two Of Us, I've Got A Feeling, Oh Darling, One After 909, Across The Universe, Dig A Pony, Suzy Parker, I Me Mine, For You Blue, Besame Mucho, Octopus's Garden, You Really Got A Hold On Me, Dig It, Let It Be, The Long And Winding Road, Get Back.

Plus this bonus selection...

OH WOODSTOCK! 1970
U.S. Educational film. The same rare Woodstock festival film footage is shown twice; once to the younger generation and again to older "establishment" adults. Both groups describe the events they see and hear in completely different terms. Includes rare and interesting Woodstock footage that is not seen in the countless other films about Woodstock. Very good study of the 1960s generation gap.

I think it is a great film especially the segment where they are jamming on the Apple roof top. (Posted on 12/12/18)

I will echo the previous comment that this is the best copy of "Let it Be" I think I've ever seen. I've bought over five different versions of the film and this will be the last time I ever need to buy it. Although it is not fun to watch the Beatles' breakup -- it can be painful at times -- the music shines through it all and there are still plenty of magical moments throughout. (Posted on 3/12/15)

I BOUGHT "LET IT BE" AND I LOVE IT! It's the best copy I have seen. I have a few other copies and they're awful! I have spread the word among my friends - we are die hard Beatles fans and this is manna from heaven for us! THANK YOU! (Posted on 11/5/14)
