U.S. TV show. Sep-12-67. A special "Beach Party" episode of The Hollywood Palace variety series features Frankie Avalon, Annette Funicello, The Fifth Dimension and is hosted by Phyllis Diller. There's sand, surf boards, bikini babes, and a Tiki luau with fire jugglers and a trained seal! There's also a muscle-man troupe, The Herculeans, who do some wild gymnastics. Lots of wise-cracking jokes and very loose ad-libbing by some cast members!

U.S. Special. A retrospective look back at Jan & Dean and the beach / surf sound. Dean explains that the Beach Boys were in diapers when Jan & Dean invented their sound – that the Beach Boys copied. Jan & Dean hang out in on the beach, discuss the 60s and introduce their songs which have been made into videos in 1984. Because of Jan's infamous accident it's a little difficult for him to fully participate. Also a very rare, 60s color pilot for a never-aired Jan & Dean TV show.
