ARG. Argentine TV show. Fantastic clips from mid-60s teen TV show, "Escala Musical TV." Uruguay had a "Beatles" with Los Shakers and they had a "Rolling Stones" with Los Mockers. Formed in Uruguay, in the mid-'60s, Los Mockers modeled themselves on the early Rolling Stones. With their rough guitar, harmonica and R&B sound they sounded much better than most Stones-influenced groups. Their material is sung in English. Killer version of "Paint It Black."

ARG. Argentine TV show. Fantastic footage from mid-60s teen TV show, "Escala Musical TV." Also an "avant garde film" featuring Los Shakers in "A Hard Day's Night" type situations. Great scene with Los Shakers bowing and worshiping a picture of the Beatles! Los Shakers were an Uruguayan beat group who modeled themselves on the Beatles' "Jangle Sound." Los Shakers were superior to many of the real Liverpool Mersey Beat groups. All their material was sung in English. They were huge in Uruguay and Argentina, but never entered the English-speaking market.
