1950s TEEN DANCE TV SHOWS VOLUME 2

Four late 50s & early 60s teenage TV shows featuring cool dancing teens and vintage rock n roll!

PARTY TIME 1959
U.S. TV show. KTVI-TV St. Louis, MO rock n roll teen music show featuring Ike Turner and The Kings of Rhythm as the house rock n roll band! This episode features the National Rock n Roll Championships (very wild jitterbug dancing!) So, it looks like this: very white host (George Edick), all white teenagers and an all-black R&B house band wailing on the following tunes: "I know You Don't Love Me," "Rock and Roll Cha Cha Cha," "So Fine," "Splish Splash," "Charley Brown," and others. Very low tech but incredible 1950s charm and great music! Fun and corny live commercials!

BEECH -NUT SHOW 1959
Nov-28-59. U.S. TV show. Musical guests include Gary Stytes (Starry Eyed), Bobby Freeman (Ebb Tide). Dick talks with the kids in the audience about his recent book “Your Happiest Years.” Rob Lauren (If I Had A Girl), Lloyd Price (Won't Cha Come Home, Come Into My Heart), Frankie Avalon (Why, Swinging On A Rainbow). Frankie is interview and discusses his work in the film “The Alamo” and why he’s growing his hair so long.

ARTHUR MURRAY PARTY 1960
Oct-6-60. U.S. TV show. Great color footage of Sam Cooke rocking out on “Mary, Mary Lou.” Plus, learn to dance the Arthur Murray way! Kinda square teenagers. I guess they didn't want the kids to "rip it up" on the Arthur Murray show—yet they had cigarette commercials! Cool TV show.

CHUCK BERRY: FACE AU PUBLIC 1965
BE. Belgium TV show. Chuck plays a ton of his hits live and delivers some of his best guitar playing! Plus he performs some very punk moves for 1965! Songs include: "Maybelline," "Roll Over Beethoven," "Memphis," "No Particular Place To Go," "Johnny B. Goode," and others!
