U.K. film. An alien visitor comes to Earth to pit a rock and roll battle between "Beatland" and "Balladisle." (Possible inspiration for Yellow Submarine?) Some good British Beat music is featured: The Nashville Teens, Lulu and the Luvvers, The Graham Bond Organization, The Trolls, The Long and The Short, The Trekkers, The Vacqueros, Elaine & Derek, Alan David. Some interesting things to look for: very cool "beat music" from The Long & The Short and a battalion of drummers that includes Ginger Baker and Andy White. (Andy replaced Ringo on initial recording of "Love Me Do.") Lots of mod looking guitars and Vox amps! Gonks Go Beat is a rare '60s UK beat music rock and roll movie!
