FERRY CROSS THE MERSEY 1965

FERRY CROSS THE MERSEY 1965
U.K. film. Brian Epstein presents Ferry Cross The Mersey featuring: Gerry and The Pacemakers, The Fourmost, The Black Knights, Cilla Black, Earl Royce and the Olympics, and The Blackwells. 14 dazzling numbers! Great Liverpool location footage includes: Birkenhead Market, Locarno Ballroom, Adelphi Hotel, the Pier Head, the Mersey Tunnel and, of course, the world famous Cavern Club. (A real fight broke out at the Locarno Ballroom and was kept in the film!) Terrific scene in Frank Hessy's music store featuring hundreds of real fans pushed up against the windows while Gerry and the Pacemakers play inside. A very cool document of the Liverpool Mersey Beat boom. Fab film! Jimmy Savile, Julie Samuel, George A. Cooper, Eric Barker, T.P. McKenna, Mona Washbourne.

Songs include Gerry & the Pacemakers: "Baby You're So Good To Me," "Fall In Love," "Ferry Cross The Mersey," "I'll Wait For You," "It's Gonna Be All Right," "She's The Only Girl For Me," "This Thing Called Love," "Why Oh Why." Cilla Black: "Is It Love?" The Fourmost: "I Love You Too." The Black Knights: "I Got A Woman." The Blackwells: "Why Don't You Love Me?" Earl Royce & the Olympics: "Shake A Tail Feather!" George Martin Orchestra: "The Liverpool Scene." Bonus Selections: Excerpt from 1963 TV special "Beat City;" Gerry and The Pacemakers and Billy J. Kramer on U.S. TV.
