ELVIS : THE UNTOLD STORIES 1988

Four rare documentaries that look at Elvis' musical influences, private stories told by those close to him, his devoted fans, and a critical analysis of Elvis' career and final ending. Very illuminating and interesting.

ELVIS : HEART & SOUL – MUSICAL BEGINNINGS
Early footage and interviews. A look at the black culture influence on Elvis and his music. Tom Jones says, "Elvis liked black singers." Sammy Davis Jr. says when he first heard Elvis he said, "Why is that white boy singing black?" Sun artist Billy Lee Riley says that Elvis brought him from country to rockabilly. Mac Davis wrote "In The Ghetto" and first offered it to Sammy Davis Jr. Other interviews include: composer Larry Muhoberac, music critic David Marsh, musician B.B. King and others.

ELVIS : UNTOLD STORIES
Private stories and thoughts shared for the first time from relatives and friends. Elvis' first cousin Billy Smith and his wife Jo Smith both lived at Graceland. Longtime friend and Memphis Mafia foreman, Marty Lacker and his wife Patsy also lived at Graceland. Bill Morris, Elvis' friend and the Sherriff and Mayor of Memphis. Pat Parry, Elvis' Hollywood hairdresser. Kang Rhee, Elvis' karate instructor. Harry Levitvh, Elvis' jeweler. Lots of personal stories not heard elsewhere.

ELVIS : THE FANS
A look at Elvis' fans and the great lengths some went through in expressing their devotion to the King. An interesting look at an Elvis Memorabilia auction where the bidding enters the stratosphere! There's a fascinating look at the "Gate People" who rearranged their lives so they could spend countless hours hanging out at the famous music gates of Graceland in hopes of meeting Elvis. Interviews include many of his fans from around the world. Also, Ursula Andress, Jimmy Velvet, Stephen Phillips, Sammy Davis Jr.

ELVIS: A PERSPECTIVE – CRITICAL ANALYSIS
Extensive interview with movie producer, Hal Wallis who discusses Elvis, his acting, films, soundtracks, and more. During the movie years Elvis would ask his musicians why his records sounded so thin and had no energy. Colonel Tom Parker insisted that "his boy stand out" on the records, so everything else was pushed deep in the background. Elvis' overuse of perscription drugs. Interviews include: Sammy Davis Jr., Tom Jones, Ursula Andress, B.B. King, Elvis' drummer Ronnie Tutt, music critic David Marsh, Hal Wallis.
