TRAIN RIDE TO HOLLYWOOD 1975

Double Feature!

TRAIN RIDE TO HOLLYWOOD 1975
U.S. film. Black rhythm & blues group, Bloodstone, star in and wrote all the music for this film. Formed in 1962 in Kansas City, Missouri, Bloodstone was originally a high school doo-wop group called, the Sinceres. This musical-fantasy comedy, set in Hollywood's Golden Age, is patterned after movies by the Marx Brothers and the Beatles.

Harry Williams, a member of Bloodstone, is about to go onstage for a concert when he accidently bangs his head. He goes unconscious and his "dream sequence" becomes the entire movie. The four band members become conductors on a California-bound train filled with (impersonated) actors and characters from the "Golden Age of Hollywood" such as W.C. Fields, Dracula, Marlon Brando, Laurel and Hardy, Humphrey Bogart, Jean Harlow, and many others. There is a killer on the train who murders his victims by suffocating them in his armpits! In one scene all the characters are smoking pot in a water pipe; you haven't lived until you've seen Dracula stoned! Lots of big boobs and cleavage.

There is a ton of music. Songs include: "As Time Goes By," "Yakety Yak," "Train Ride," "What Do I Have To Do?" "Hooray For Romance," "Rock'N'Roll Choo Choo," "Go To Sleep," "Toot! Toot! Tootsie (Goodbye)," "I'm In Shape," "Sh-Boom (Life Could Be A Dream)," "Money (That's What I Want)." Willis Draffen Jr., Charles Love, Charles McCormick, Harry Williams, Michael Payne, Guy Marks, Jay Robinson, Jay Lawrence, Phyllis Davis. Train Ride to Hollywood.
