NAME OF THE GAME IS KILL!, THE (aka THE FEMALE TRAP) 1968

Double Feature!

THE NAME OF THE GAME IS KILL! (aka THE FEMALE TRAP) 1968
U.S. film. A creepy cult thriller, (with the Electric Prunes on soundtrack) set in the American southwest. A Hungarian drifter (played by Jack Lord just before his role in Hawaii Five-O) named Lipa meets the attractive Mickey (played by Susan Strasberg) while wandering the desert highways. Mickey runs a last-chance gas station in the desert with her mother (T.C. Jones) and two sisters. They invite Lipa to stay with them and he agrees, not realizing that the odd-ball family are psycho-lunatics.

Poor Lipa, he falls in love with Mickey and plans to go to San Francisco, but he also gets attacked by a rattlesnake, seduced by the psychotic sisters, attends a weird costume party and gets run over by a car before figuring out the hair-raising truth—that "Mom" is really a man—the sister's dead father! Say what!? And, believe it or not, the ending is even more wacko!

A very trippy soundtrack and some LSD-inspired montages adds to the bizarre nature of the film. Very cool scene features bare-footed sister, Nan, wildly dancing to the Electric Prunes song, "Shadows." The group The Marketts (of "Out Of Limits" fame) play on the soundtrack. Color corrected (not bad) from a faded film print. Jack Lord, Susan Strasberg, Tisha Sterling, Collin Wilcox Paxton, Marc Desmond, T.C. Jones, Mort Mills. The Name of the Game is Kill!

Plus this bonus selection...

MARIJUANA WITH SONNY BONO 1968
U.S. anti-drug film. A new way to laugh while high on pot! The film begins with an action-packed sequence of cops raiding a crash pad and busting a gang of pot-smokers while they scream at the camera about how marijuana really isn't that bad. Sonny Bono (looking stoned himself and dressed in gold lame' pajamas!) makes his arguments against marijuana while covering seven key points.
