U.S. film. The Army shenanigans of legendary B-movie actor, writer, producer and director, Arch Hall Sr. Robert Mitchum stars as Arch Hall Sr. and Jack Webb as William Bowers. Archie cons everyone on the Army base into believing that he's a high-ranking officer and part of a secret operation. As a result, they get special treatment and much free time away from the base. When they get out of the service they go to Hollywood, where Arch Hall Sr. becomes a big-time studio executive and William Bowers becomes a scriptwriter.
