IF A MAN ANSWERS 1962
U.S. film. Sandra Dee and Bobby Darrin. Chantel is the daughter of a sophisticated French mother and staid Bostonian father. She’s also a girl who likes men—she’s had three simultaneous engagements! She knows all the secrets to a happy marriage including sly tricks and conniving! When her family moves to New York City she meets Eugene, a photographer who has his own opinions on marriage. Eugene loves being a bachelor…that is until Chantel cleverly changes all his views with the help of her mother. The couple marries but now Chantel has to keep Gene interested, which she’s having trouble doing. Mother comes to the rescue with a “guide to a happy marriage” a book which she says worked wonderfully with her father. When Chantel looks, she’s horrified to see that the book is called “How to Train Man's Best Friend!” Watching Sandra Dee gradually enjoy using the dog-training guide on Bobby Darrin is real fun! A kooky screwball comedy filled with nostalgic 1960s fun! Bobby Darrin songs: "If A Man Answers" and "True True Love." "If A Man Answers"/"True True Love" was Bobby's first single release for Capitol (4837) in 1962. It reached number 32 on the pop charts and charted for 8 weeks. Sandra Dee, Bobby Darin, Micheline Presle, John Lund, Cesar Romero, Stefanie Powers, Christopher Knight, Ted Thorpe, Roger Bacon, John Bleifer, Pamela Searle, Warrene Ott. If A Man Answers!
