HOOTENANNY HOOT 1963

Double Feature!

HOOTENANNY HOOT 1963
U.S. film. The hottest sound around... As the country's folk favorites get together for the first, fabulous full-length hootenanny musical ever! Because it's a Sam Katzman quickie, (he simply dusted off the script of "Rock Around The Clock"), Hootenanny Hoot is basically an excuse to present as much music in 90 minutes as possible. An East Coast television executive heads west but gets stuck in traffic in Norburg, Missouri where he finds all the kids are preparing for their Saturday Night Hootenanny. He gets the idea to put on a big coast-to-coast television spectacular but has to maneuver around a former love interest/big-wig TV executive. Peter Breck, Ruta Lee, Joby Baker, Pamela Austin, Bobo Lewis, Lauren Gilbert, Nick Novarro, Vikki Dougan. Hootenanny Hoot!

Performers and songs include: The Gateway Trio: "Puttin' on the Style," "Foolish Questions." George Hamilton IV: "Abilene." Johnny Cash: "Frankie's Man Johnny." Joe and Eddie: "There's a Meetin' Here Tonight." Judy Henske: "Wade in the Water," "The Ballad of Little Romy." Cathie Taylor: "The Frozen Logger." The Brothers Four: "Frogg," "Darlin' Cory." Sheb Wooley: "Hootenanny Hoot," "Building a Railroad." Chris Crosby: "Sweet Love."

Plus this bonus selection...

RANCH PARTY 1957
U.S. TV show. Collins Kids: "Let's Have A Party." Johnny Cash: "I Walk The Line." Ranch Party Gang: "Blue Tail Fly." Patsy Cline: "I've Loved and Lost Again." Les 'Carrot Top' Anderson: "Dimples or the Dumplins." Joe Maphis and Fiddlin' Kate: "Instrumental Hoedown." Dorothy Wright: "Just a Closer Walk with Thee." Bobby Helms: "Long Gone Daddy" (Terrific rockabilly!). Lorrie Collins: "Young Heart." Ranch Party Gang: "Deep In the Heart of Texas."
