WILD BOYS OF THE ROAD (a.k.a. DANGEROUS DAYS) 1933
U.S. film. Two teenagers whose families are ruined by the depression, bum their way eastward seeking work and money. They hop freight trains and meet up with two hard-knock girls. Many events happen to them including; a train brakeman gropes and rapes one of the girls (pre-code stuff!). In retaliation the boys kill him. One of the boys gets his leg crushed by a train. They meet up with a large gang of kids just like them and build their own little city out of abandoned sewer pipes and other construction materials. Soon the cops destroy the shantytown and the large gang disbands. Only the two original boys and one of the girls keep traveling eastward. By the time they reach New York, they've become hardened and weary, and they are no longer kids. Cool teen dance and jalopy scenes.
