Regis Toomey, Farley Granger and Rick Jason play a family auto-racing team, a father and two sons. The team enters an important Italian road competition to prove that their American race car is the superior to any foreign job. Press agent Mona Freeman nearly upsets the apple cart by creating dissension between the brothers. Lots of real racing footage! Teenage punk hot rodders become law-abiding gear heads after joining adult-supervised racing clubs. “Mel" is a hot-rodder who discovers the Santa Ana drag strip and Lake El Mirage timing trials and ends up in hot rod heaven! The narrator tells us that, these racing clubs provide a "safe and constructive outlet," and help mitigate the "juvenile nuisance problem. Trophies now instead of traffic tickets! He'll never speed on the highway again!" Terrific shots of homemade hot rods.
