POT PARENTS POLICE 1972

Double Feature!

POT PARENTS POLICE (aka THE CAT ATE THE PARAKEET) 1972
U.S. film. Hippie drug exploitation movie! 13-year old Johnny's dad isn't home very much and his mom is clueless. This leaves open the possibilities that Johnny could fall in with the wrong crowd. When Johnny's pet dog dies and his father shows no sign of sadness, Johnny naturally sneaks away and befriends some dirty drug-taking hippies who destroy his morals.

The hippies turn Johnny on to Mateus Rose' and Acapulco gold! They teach him the proper way to toke a joint and chug the wine. In no time Johnny is high as a kite and staggering around. A multi-screen montage demonstrates that everyone's stoned! The hippies dump the zonked-out Johnny on a bus stop bench where the juvenile fuzz discovers him and brings him home. But Johnny likes to hang out at the hippie's crash pad where they teach him cool words like "bad scene," "spaced out," "loaded," "grass," "weed," "acid," "balling," etc.

After his dad threatens to call the cops, Johnny locks his parents in the basement and runs to warn the hippies to watch out for the fuzz! The crash pad is full of stoned-out hippies high on mescaline! We can only hope for a happy ending! Phillip Pine, Madelyn Keen, Robert Mantell, Dawn Frame, Arthur Batanides, Barbara James, Johnny Legend, Sheila Brennan, Paul Appleby, Jane Uhrig, Barbara Bartelme, Jeffery Caron, Bert Conway. Pot Parents Police!
