THE DAVID CASSIDY STORY
U.S. film. "C'mon Get Happy!" The story begins with David as a young child and his father, matinee idol Jack Cassidy, telling young David that he divorced his mother and has taken a new wife, Shirley Jones. A '60s musical montage moves the story forward to David moving to Los Angeles to break into acting. His father, Jack, is not very encouraging! Next, David auditions for the Partridge Family and the rest is teen-idol history!

What the public didn't know is that David was only making $600 a week! David hangs out in his apartment with his pot head buddies and they tease him for being in a bubblegum music TV show! As David's fame grows his father becomes bitter with jealousy.

As the Partridge Family moves into its fourth season David is fed up playing a teeny-bopper idol and wishes he could rock harder than Keith Partridge. In an attempt to break his squeaky-clean image David gives a no holds barred interview to Rolling Stone magazine that becomes the beginning of the end of the Partridge Family.

David begins a world tour that ends with a final concert in London and results in a girl fan dying in the audience—the experience hits David hard and he begins to abuse drugs. To make matters worse his father becomes mentally unstable. Things get even worse before they get better but the story ends on a happy upbeat note!

All the Partridge Family song hits are heard. David Cassidy supplies the vocals. Andrew Kavovit, Malcolm McDowell, Dey Young, Roma Maffia, Chandra West, Matthew John Armstrong, Katie Wright, Paul Ben-Victor, Sibel Ergener.
