NORWOOD 1970
U.S. Film. Excellent quality. Hal Wallis, who directed several Elvis movies, gives Glen Campbell the "Elvis Movie treatment!" With his guitar in hand and singing songs along the way, Campbell sets off on a road trip to find musical success.

Glen Campbell sings: "Ol' Norwood's Comin' Home," "The Repo Man," β€œMe And My Guitar,” "I'll Paint You A Song," "Down Home," "Everything a Man Could Ever Need."

Norwood Pratt (Campbell) is a Marine who is just back from Vietnam. As a musician, his one great ambition is to appear on the radio program, The Louisiana Hayride (which was a career launching pad for Elvis back in 1955).

During his travels Norwood meets a variety of characters, including a wheeler-dealer (Pat Hingle), a jaded wanna-be starlet (Tisha Sterling), spaced out hippes in a Greenwich Village cellar club, and his Marine buddy Joe Reese (Joe Namath).

But, the most important person that he meets is Rita Lee Chipman (Kim Darby), the "right kind of girl," but she's unwed and a soon-to-be mother (at a time when it was uncommon and shameful). Rita Lee supports him and is by his side when Norwood finally reaches the KWKH, Louisiana Hayride studio as his dream comes true. Glen Campbell, Kim Darby, Joe Namath, Carol Lynley, Pat Hingle, Tisha Sterling, Dom DeLuise, Meredith MacRae, Sammy Jackson, Jimmy Boyd.

A real "Glen Campbell" movie, and it's wonderful. Review by Lisa

Norwood is a film that shows off the talents of Glen Campbell and it succeeds in every way. Glen looks great, sings and plays great, and his acting chops are very good. I've wanted to see this film for years and it, sadly but joyfully, arrived on the day that Glen died. Thanks for making this film available. I know it'll be one of those movies I'll watch many times.
