THE CROSS AND THE SWITCHBLADE 1969
U.S. film. Juvenile delinquent, teenage, blaxploitation and religious (!) film with terrific funk score. Pat Boone stars as Minister David Wilkerson in this true story about a man bringing religion to a NYC ghetto. Great teen gang rumbles and hard 1969 NYC street scenes. You can almost smell the urine from the filming locations. Awesome hoodlum dialog and black rap.

Junkie whores, pot and psychedelic gang hangouts. Gangs include Egyptian Kings, Mau Maus, and the Bishops. listen for the insane funk pounder, "Addict's Psalm," Pat Boone speaking passages from the Bible over a huge funk break beat or "Rumble", a great chase-style funk instrumental. Pat Boone, Erik Estrada, Jackelyn Giroux, Jo-Ann Robinson, Dino DeFilippi, Don Blakely, Gil Frazier, Don Lamond. The Cross and the Switchblade.

Plus this bonus selection...

EXCERPT FROM MIKE DOUGLAS SHOW 1974
U.S. TV show. A very nervous Gene Simmons of Kiss is interviewed. Sitting next to him is Totie Fields who calls him out on having a "hook nose"—he must really be a nice Jewish boy underneath the halloween costume.
