THE TYRANT KING 1968
U.K. If you love 1960s London and pop/psychedelic music, you'll enjoy The Tyrant King, a six-part TV series filmed entirely in London in 1968. The series was aimed at kids and teenagers to encourage them to visit London's famous landmarks but with its ultra cool soundtrack featuring Pink Floyd, the Nice and many others, and 1968 London imagery, watching it today feels more like a 60s psychedelic trip than a kids TV show.

The story follows the adventures of three teenagers who find a wallet and overhear a conversation and begin a citywide search of London for the mysterious Tyrant King. They visit London's most famous landmarks in what is basically a full-color, mod 60s promotional film for the city.

The kids, dressed in fab gear, visit many London landmarks including The South Bank Centre, St Paul's, The Shell Building, Carnaby Street, The Tower of London, The Commonwealth Institute, Kew Gardens and Greenwich.

The soundtrack includes: The Nice: "The Thoughts of Emerlist Davjack." Pink Floyd: "Interstellar Overdrive," "A Saucerful Of Secrets," "Astronomy Domine," "Corporal Clegg." The Moody Blues: "Dr Livingston, I Presume." The Rolling Stones" "She's a Rainbow." Cream: "Passing The Time," "The White Room," "Sunshine of Your Love," "As You Said." And much more!

Philip Madoc, Murray Melvin, Kim Fortune, Candace Glendenning, Edward McMurray, Carole Boyer, Vernon Joyner, Edward Evans.
