FEVER HEAT 1968
U.S. film. "Racing men and racy women and burning tires and blazing passions all flung at you at fever heat!" Lots of real dirt track speedway racing footage. Title song, "Fever Heat" is sung by the Hager Twins.

Ace Jones (Nick Adams) is an ex-stockcar racer whose truck needs repairs. He pulls into a garage in a small Iowa town and meets the cute young widow Sandy (Jeannine Riley) who now runs the shop after her husband was killed in a racing accident at the local speedway.

The garage is going broke but Ace shows Sandy that he can help her by collecting debts owed by racers. So, the two become business partners…and more! After a while Ace decides to get back into the racing game even though the local track owner loves Sandy…and hates Ace. One thing leads to another and a car gets sabotaged, someone walks on the track and is killed, and a huge pileup takes the lives of two of Ace's driving buddies.

This was the last film for the late Nick Adams who was good friends with James Dean (also a racing fan) and is best remembered as Johnny Yuma on the TV series "The Rebel." Jeannine Riley played Billie Jo Bradley on the TV series "Petticoat Junction." Nick Adams, Jeannine Riley, Norman Alden, Vaughn Taylor, Daxson Thomas, Robert Broyles, Skip Nelson, Cliff Carr, Matt Moro.
